Manchurian Sauce
Gravy
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
- 4 tbsp spring onion whites
- 1 tbsp ginger
- 1 tbsp garlic
- 2 green chilis
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2-3 tsp sambal oelek
- 1 tsp rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp water
- 1 1/4 cup water or stock
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- salt
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp spring onion greens
Instructions
- Mix together soy sauce, ketchup, and sambal and set aside
- Mix together 2 tbsp cornstarch and 4 tbsp water and set aside
- Sautee onions, garlic, ginger, chilis in oil until onions are transparent/soft
- Add the soy sauce mixture and stir fry for another ~minute
- Add the cup of water and wait for it to come to a boil, then add the cornstarch mixture
- Wait for the sauce to thicken and be glazed and be the right color (10 min of cooking?)
- Add pepper, salt, sugar, and vinegar at the end
- Top with spring onion greens
